How to get a wheelchair accessible vehicle suited to you

Beginning the journey of choosing a suitable wheelchair accessible vehicle to suit you and your lifestyle can be exciting and overwhelming at the same time. With so much experience with many clients, we can take you through each step of the process and you can enjoy the ride!

Here is a typical timeline of the process to have your vehicle modified with wheelchair access:

  1. If you are in the market to purchase a vehicle, our team can help you choose one to suit the type of modification you require.
  2. Contact your Occupational Therapist, as they will assess your vehicle (if you have one) and prescribe a modification.
  3. We then will send you a quotation for the modification work to be done on the vehicle.
  4. If you are applying to the Queensland Government for VOSS funding, here is the link to the website for information and forms required: www.qld.gov.au/health/support/equipment/vehicles/index
  5. Once VOSS has approved your funding request, we will be notified and can proceed with scheduling in a date to start the work.
  6. Once the modification is complete, the Occupational therapist will sign off the VOSS papers, final payments are made and the vehicle is ready to be driven.

With the help of the Queensland Government Subsidy Scheme (VOSS) this helps you that little bit more towards your ideal wheelchair accessible vehicle, if you have any questions about this please give us a call today 3252 3809
