However, at Auto Extras, we believe that everyone deserves the freedom to move around at their own pace and convenience. With over 40 years of experience in customising vehicles to suit the needs of individuals with disabilities, we have helped many people to increase their mobility and reclaim their independence.

For example, some individuals may require a customised car with hand controls to enable easier entering and exiting of the vehicle, while others may require a wheelchair hoist. We understand the positive impact that mobility can have on people’s lives. Take Louise’s story, for instance. Louise had trouble walking long distances and received a powered wheelchair. However, her wheelchair weighed more than 150kg, making it impossible for her to take it with her in her car. After customising her Honda Odyssey with an Autochair Olympian boot-lifter and hand controls, Louise was able to lift her wheelchair into her car and drive independently. This simple customisation made a huge difference in her life, allowing her to visit places that were previously inaccessible.
